Come visit me in the legendary downtown on Rabbit Hash, KY. I’ll be set up right outside of Rabbit Hash Artworks. 10046 Lower River Rd, Burlington, KY 41005. These will be all natural light, meaning anywhere from a 1 - 15 second exposure depending on sunlight that day. Plates will range in price from $70 - $110 depending on which of my three sizes you pick (4×5, 5×7, 8×10). Plates will be ready for pick up within 3 - 4 days after the session and you can also pay an addition $8 for shipping. Each plate will also have a digital scan included.

Paper Moon photo booths became popular at traveling fairs in the early 1900s, back when photography was still a rare luxury. I’ve always been drawn to these portraits, especially the charming and quirky moon designs, and wanted to capture that same magical feeling here in the studio. I worked hard handcrafting this moon and the set.

While the moon itself will stay mostly consistent from session to session, each event might will feature different skies, stars, clouds, and backdrop details. The backgrounds will be black, though the tintype process can sometimes create soft haze or fog-like effects due to chemistry variations. Those imperfections are part of what makes each plate entirely unique and impossible to replicate.

Appointments are available for 5x10 tintypes, and every portrait includes a high-resolution digital scan delivered to your inbox. If scheduling permits, you’ll also have the option to purchase an additional plate during your session at the standard rates of $70 - $110 per plate.

Occasionally we may create extra plates because of blinking, movement, or chemical inconsistencies. These “seconds” can be purchased for half price. If they aren’t claimed, they’ll be repurposed in the studio for mixed media work and experimentation.

Each booking is a private fifty minute session. Please arrive right on time — not early or late — to allow enough space between appointments for everyone involved.

You’re welcome to bring multiple outfit choices. Textures, patterns, and denim tend to photograph beautifully. Try to avoid solid dark shades or colors like black, red, orange, yellow, and green, as they can blend too much into the set.
