Alex Lippert is a tintype photographer and a student of the John Coffer Tintype Camp. She travels between Cincinnati and Blue Creek, Ohio with her restored antique cameras capturing a diverse range of natural light and artificially lit portraits in the mid-1800’s wet plate collodion process.
When she isn’t taking portraits outdoors or in her home studio in College Hill, you’ll find her hiking and camping at their cabin in Blue Creek exploring the edge of Appalachia with her four kids and two dogs.
Topics she loves to ponder: aging, creative ways we show political resistance, grief, country music, and the beauty that is rural Ohio.
Alex strives to keep her sessions slower and more personal. The hope is that we all walk away from the session feeling seen and connected.
